Carnival Magic @ Bob Baker Marionette Theater

Poster for the event {event.name}

You may have searched every fairground and big tent from here to Eastport and back again but you've never seen a show -- or a movie!-- like Carnival Magic! First LA screening in 15 years!

Step right up to this colorful and wicked tale featuring all of your favorite acts: a world weary ape, vehicular mayhem, romance(?), a tiger, real magic, ape joyriding, the complications of carnival public relations, a parade, and more! Markov the Magician (Don Stewart) feuds with animal trainer Kirk (Joe Cirillo) until Kirk learns Markov's secret.... Markov is housing a talking (but hardly eloquent) chimp named Alexander the Great (Trudi the Chimp)... Alexander may be the key to saving the carnival. But is that enough to keep Kirk from kidnapping him and selling him to a nefarious mad scientist?

This amazingly and amusingly unusual circus oddity by Al Adamson (Psycho A-Go-GoSatan's SadistsDracula vs. Frankenstein) is "family-friendly"* and unforgettable! Long thought lost and rediscovered in 2009, come-one, come-all for a rare screening of this un-rentable and un-streamable sideshow attraction! See the movie Joe Franklin called “the finest family film since E.T.!”**

Plus! Juggler Michael Rayner aka The Broken Juggler, primate puppets from Bob Baker's The Circus, and more surprises!

*G-Rated but truly strange and a bit dark
**There is hardly a theme in here that will interest children-- and many that may leave them flummoxed-- but it is technically family friendly! And completely devoid of speaking roles for children!
